Happy Birthday William and Beautiful Kirtland...

Happy 12th Birthday William!
He had a wonderful day and loved the many birthday messages from the missionaries, Texas friends, NY friends and family.

It was very special to have a few of the missionaries serving in our area, who William has become very close to, join us for his ordination to the Aaronic Priesthood.  Each one of them took a few minutes to share their thoughts about being a priesthood holder.  They are awesome examples and the best big brothers and friends William could have ever hoped for!

Today I was blessed to have William pass me the sacrament.  I have been thinking about this sacred ordinance a lot lately.  It is a gift from our Heavenly Father to be able to attend Church each Sunday, remember his Son and the covenant we made at baptism to always remember him and follow him.  It is a gift to repent and do better each week. The Sacrament is the only ordinance we repeat over and over again for ourselves.  I had a few tears as it was my son who blessed me with this experience today.

This week we attended the Mission President's Seminar in Cleveland.  It was so fun to reunite with our group of 8 mission presidents and wives from the MTC.  Elder Donald L. Hallstrom, of the Presidency of the Seventy presided, along with Elder Anthony D. Perkins and Randall C. Bennett.  We learned so much and loved beautiful Kirtland.

Karl B. Anderson and his wife hosted us in Kirtland.  He is an expert on Church History during the Kirtland days.  It was fascinating.  This picture was taken in the upper room of the Whitney Store.

I love the early saints and the Prophet Joseph Smith.  I am grateful for their courage, their faith, their never ending sacrifice and their love for the Lord.  I am so grateful for the blessings of the gospel that I enjoy today!
