Zone Conferences

I loved this round of Zone Conferences.  We have the most amazing missionaries!  They are so fun to teach because of their eagerness to learn.  We are growing, stretching, and seeing so many miracles in the NYNYN mission.  The blessings of the Lord are abundant.  He loves his children and as we desire to serve him, act in faith, and go forth each day he puts people in our path who are ready and waiting for the truth of the gospel.  It is a message of hope and joy.  The gospel of Jesus Christ is the answer for the ills of today.  I believe this with all of my heart.  The Savior himself directs this work. I love him and I am on his team!

"The Standard of Truth has been erected;
no unhallowed hand can stop the work from
progressing; persecutions may rage, mobs may combine,
armies may assemble, calumny may defame, but the truth
of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent,
till it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime,
swept every country, and sounded in every ear,
till the purposes of God shall be accomplished and the
Great Jehovah shall say the work is done”
(History of the Church, 4:540).
Special thanks to Sister Michelle Larsen and the Relief Society sisters in the NY Stake, Sister Jaime Roddy and her daughter, Kaitlyn, and Sister Luisa Rendon for the yummy meals they provided.  Also BIG shoutout to Elder and Sister Larsen and Elders McBride and Mackintosh for going above and beyond and helping in so many ways!  They even took turns picking William up at 6 am so he could help with set-up.  I am grateful to William and Sister Larsen for taking all the pictures.  I apologize we didn't get many at 2 of the conferences.)

The missionaries love the clothing exchange.  Each Zone Conference they clean out their
closets and bring "treasures" to exchange.  It is a great motivator to clean up apartments
and get rid of any excess.

We are so grateful for Elder McBride's "tech" knowledge.  He keeps everything running smooth.

William started a little business this summer shining shoes.
The missionaries have been his best customers!

Elder Larsen braved the 95 degree humid heat for 2 days as each car was inspected
by visitors from the missionary department.  It was a big job and we are so grateful
for all he does to help keep our missionaries safe on the roads.

A note about the blankets...the sisters always freeze in our meetings!  I have started bringing a bag of little throw blankets to help them stay warm.  That way the Elders can be comfortable in their suits and we are all happy when the air conditioning is blowing cold air!

We are so happy to have the Honeycutts join us.  Elder Honeycutt and Dave served
in a Bishopric together several years ago.  It has been so fun to be reunited with them.
They will be serving in the mission office.

This was a fun picture that Dave's cousin, who lives in Manhattan texted him this week.
It's always great to see the Elders out working!  We encourage them to carry a
Book of Mormon everywhere they go...

Lauren and Savannah had fun spending the day in the city with my sister and her family.
They went all over and literally shopped until they dropped!

Savannah snapped this photo of Lauren on the train ride home.
