Men are that they might have JOY!

I loved General Conference this weekend.  There were so many talks that just spoke to my heart.  A few of my favorites were President Monson, Elder Russell M. Nelson and Sister Linda S. Reeves' powerful talk on Repentance.

"I testify of the Great gift which is our Father's plan for us.
It is the one perfect path to peace and happiness both here and in the world to come."
-President Thomas S. Monson

"The joy we feel has little to do with the circumstances of our
lives and everything to do with the focus of our lives."

"When the focus of our lives is on God's plan of salvation, as President Monson just taught us, and Jesus' gospel, we can feel joy regardless of what is happening-or not happening-in our lives.  Joy comes from and because of Him.  He is the source of all joy."

"Jesus Christ is Joy!"
-President Russell M. Nelson

"Men are that they might have Joy"
-2 Nephi 2:25

"Repentance is a Gift."
-Sister Linda S. Reeves

It has been a wonderful week.  On Thursday we held the Train the Trainers meeting in Manhattan.  I apologize I have no pictures!  We held it at the Lincoln Center Chapel because Dave had other appointments in the city that afternoon.  Traveling to Manhattan from Scarsdale usually takes us 35-50 minutes but due to an accident on the Henry Hudson expressway we were 40 minutes late.  We quickly began the meeting thinking I would get a group picture at the end.  I spaced it and didn't remember until later that day.  We have awesome trainers this transfer cycle!  I will try to remember to get a good picture of them on transfer day.
Friday we held MLC at the Scarsdale Chapel.
MLC is always an uplifting meeting with the leadership of the mission.

President Fuller, of the Monticello Branch, FaceTimed in and gave the missionaries excellent counsel and insight into working with Branch Presidents and Bishops.  Many great things are happening in the Monticello Branch.  We are grateful for his leadership and the support he gives the missionaries.

Sister Derzon sang so beautifully "I Wonder When He Comes Again" with Elder Pires accompanying on the Piano.  He did an excellent job!

On Saturday morning we invited the Westchester Zone missionaries to the mission home for Waffles before General Conference.  This is a fun mission tradition that my kids especially enjoy!
