Last week Dave and I had the amazing opportunity to fly to Salt Lake for a 36 hour trip which included being taught by Elder Dallin H. Oaks, Elder David A. Bednar, and Elder Neil L. Anderson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. We were part of a training video, along with 7 other Mission Presidents and their wives, which will be sent to all the Mission Presidents around the world in a few weeks. I have to pinch myself sometimes to realize this is my life right and that I am having these experiences to be taught at the feet of living prophets. It was an experience I will always remember. The short trip was a tender mercy from the Lord as we were able to spend a couple short hours with our families and particularly Dave's dad who recently had emergency brain surgery and has had failing health.
Because of our trip to Salt Lake we were unable to take our 4 Temple Square Sisters to the Airport in White Plains as they departed back to SLC. But how fun it was to surprise them at Temple Square that afternoon. We will miss them. They were a wonderful addition to the mission during the 2 transfers they spent with us.
On Tuesday we learned Sister Balcazar, from Bolivia, had received her Visa and would be joining us on Thursday. It was neat how immediately Dave knew Sister Nelson was supposed to be her trainer.
|After traveling 24 hours Sister Balcazar ate her first hamburger! She was curious about the pickle as she had never seen one before. She took a bite but just one!|
