A heartfelt thanks...

We express our heartfelt gratitude to you for your generosity to us and the New York New York North missionaries this Christmas season.  Every missionary was able to open up a package on Christmas Day.  They are blessed with boots, hats, gloves, coats, etc to keep them warm during the chill of winter here in the Northeast.  Our family is so grateful for your cards, notes of encouragement, thoughtful gifts and for all the love and prayers we feel from you.  We love our missionaries and we love their families!  Happy New Year to all of you.

Special thanks to dear friends in Texas and our family members that sent lots of packages to our missionaries to ensure that each one would know they were thought of.  The notes of love, encouragement and thanks helped the missionaries feel the warmth of the season.  The missionaries spent the day looking for ways to serve and to brighten the day for others.  They visited the sick, the lonely and talked with people on the streets and in the subways.  They Christmas caroled and delivered homemade treats.   But most importantly they shared the message of the restored gospel and invited all to come unto Christ and feel of his love.

In 2018 the missionaries will continue to "Go Forth With Faith"

Go forth with faith to tell the world
Of Jesus Christ, the Lord.
Bear witness he is God’s own Son;
Proclaim his wondrous word.
Go forth with hope and courage strong
To spread the word abroad
That people of all nations
Are children of our God.

Go forth with love to tell the world
The joy of families—
That we may be with those we love
Thru all eternity.
Go forth to serve and do your best
With no thought of reward
Then you shall know the boundless joy
Of serving Christ, the Lord.

Go forth with pow’r to tell the world
The gospel is restored,
That all may gain eternal life
Thru Jesus Christ, the Lord.
Go forth to preach his glorious truths
Of peace, of joy, and love,
That all who heed his holy word
May praise the Lord above.

Christmas Devotional & Luncheon

JOY to the World! The Lord is come!

As a mission we gathered to celebrate not only the birth of the Savior Jesus Christ,
but also the fact that HE LIVES! He is the light and the life of the world.

On Friday, December 15, the mission met together at the Ossining Chapel for a devotional followed by a luncheon, provided by members of the Yorktown Stake.  It was a memorable day for all. It warmed my heart to be together as a mission to celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

"As we seek Christ, as we find Him, as we follow Him, we shall have the Christmas spirit, not for one fleeting day each year, but as companion always.  We shall learn to forget ourselves. We shall turn our thoughts to the greater benefit of others."
~President Thomas S. Monson

"Be near me, Lord Jesus; I ask thee to stay
close by me forever, and love me, I pray.
Bless all the dear children in thy tender care,
and fit us for heaven to live with thee there."
Away in a Manger, 3rd verse

"Peace can come to all who choose to walk in the ways of the Master.  His invitation is expressed in three loving words: Come, follow me."
-President Russell M. Nelson

"How silently, how silently
The wondrous gift is given!
So God imparts to human hearts
The blessings of his heaven.
No ear may hear his coming;
But in this world of sin,
Where meek souls will receive him, still
The dear Christ enters in."
O Little Town of Bethlehem

Merry Christmas!
