Zone Conferences and New Sisters

Zone Conferences are a wonderful time to counsel together and to be taught by the Spirit.  Elder Bednar teaches us to "prepare to learn" so we always give the missionaries assignments ahead of time to prepare for Zone Conference.  We then come together to "interact to edify". We expect the missionaries to go forth with faith following the conference and "act in doctrine".

"And now come, saith the Lord, by the Spirit, unto the elders of his church,
and let us reason together, that ye may understand;
Let us reason even as a man reasoneth one with another face to face.
Now, when a man reasoneth he is understood of man, because he reasoneth as a man,
 even so will I, the Lord, reason with you that you may understand.
Wherefore, I the Lord ask you this question-unto what were ye ordained?
To preach my gospel by the Spirit, even the Comforter which was sent forth to teach the truth.
Doctrine & Covenants 50:10-14

"Appoint among yourselves a teacher, and let not all be spokesmen at once;
 but let one speak at a time and let all listen unto his sayings, that when all have
spoken that all may be edified of all and that every man may have an equal privilege".
Doctrine & Covenants 88:122

On Wednesday we were so happy to welcome Sister Engmann and Sister Sine.
 They have been serving at Temple Square and will spend 2 transfers with us in New York.
Both will be serving in Kingsbridge in the Bronx.

Meeting companions!

Manhattan Stake
Manhattan North, Manhattan Central, Manhattan South & Chinatown Zones
Held on Thursday, January 12th at the Lincoln Center Building

Sure love these two office Elders.  They sacrifice sleep when we have Zone Conferences to make sure they are there early enough to have everything set up and ready to go.  They never complain and are so happy to help with whatever is needed.    An office Elder usually serves 1-2 transfers in the office. They deliver mail, help with any apartment moves, help the office staff with various tasks, set up and take down all meetings and still find time to work in their area and share the gospel wherever they go.  They are always dependable, obedient Elders as they are very visible throughout the mission.

I apologize we didn't get "zone selfies" at this zone conference.
