New Sisters!

On Wednesday we welcomed 4 new sisters to the mission.  They will serve here for 2 transfers on an outbound assignment from Temple Square.  We enjoyed dinner with them at the mission home before sending them to their new areas with their companions.  They are excited to be here!
It is the first time to New York for all of them.

"Therefore, thrust in your sickle with all your soul, and your sins are forgiven you, and you shall be laden with sheaves upon your back, for the laborer is worthy of his hire.
Wherefore, your family shall live."
 ~Verse 5

"Behold verily I say unto you, go from them only for a little time, and declare my word,
and I will prepare a place for them."
~Verse 6

"Yea, I will open the hearts of the people, and they will receive you."

Comforter what you shall do and whither you shall go."

~verse 12

Sister Chue
"Be faithful unto the end, and lo, I am with you.  These words are not of man nor of men, but of me, even Jesus Christ, your Redeemer, by the will of the Father, Amen."
~verse 13

Sister Tsifanay

"Wherefore, be not weary in well-doing, for ye are laying the foundation of a great work.  And out of small things proceeded that which is great."

Zone Conferences

We finished up another round of zone conferences with three being held this past week beginning with the Manhattan Central and Olmstead Zones on Monday.  This was the first time we held a separate conference in Harlem.  It was nice to have smaller groups and a bit more intimate setting.  I love to be with the missionaries and to spend time teaching and learning from them.  They have the best questions and are eager to learn and grow in faith.

Elder and Sister Miles talked for a few minutes at each zone conference about apartments and car safety.  We are so grateful for them and all they do to keep our missionaries safe and happy!!  They also take care of everything for breakfast!  They are loved by the missionaries.

Each zone conference we have a clothing exchange.  Missionaries are welcome to take what they want, everything left is donated.  It is a great way to help the missionaries clean out their apartments!

On Friday we took our 4 Temple Square sisters to the Temple with their companions.  On Wednesday they will be returning to Salt Lake City after completing their "outbound" assignment here in New York.  We have loved having them part of the mission and are so grateful for their service the past 3 months.

President Smith took this picture of the Manhattan Temple.  I love this temple so much.  It is a refuge from the busy, noisy city.  The minute you walk through the doors it is quiet, peaceful and serene.  Literally amazing!

"and all people who shall enter upon the threshold of the Lord's house may feel thy power, and feel constrained to acknowledge that thou has sanctified it, and that it is thy house, a place of thy holiness."
Doctrine and Covenants 109:13
