First Half ~ March Zone Conferences

Zone Conferences began on March 1, 2018 in Newburgh.
I loved being able to teach about the power of the
Book of Mormon.

“Take away the Book of Mormon and the revelations,

and where is our religion?  We have none.”
“The Book of Mormon is the most correct of any book on Earth,
and the keystone of our religion.”
“A man will get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts,
than by any other book.”
~Joseph Smith Jr., The prophet of the Restoration

Newburgh & Poughkeepsie Zone Conference

A BIG thank you to Elder and Sister Miles!  They have diligently overseen the apartments and cars throughout the mission.  We are also appreciative of their efforts in keeping the mission history and making sure the missionaries had breakfast at Zone Conference.  At some time or another they have had interaction with every missionary in the mission.  They will be missed!

We will miss the Miles.  They complete their service and return home this week.

Elder Miles always does a great job with safety and vehicle training

“In a world ever more dangerous...
The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ has the nourishing power to heal starving spirits of the world.”
-Boyd K. Packer

"When I think of the Book of Mormon, I think of the
word power. The truths of the Book of Mormon have
the power to heal, comfort, restore, succor, strengthen,
console, and cheer our souls."
-President Russell M. Nelson

It was a snowy day in Scarsdale

In July there will be big changes in the mission!  The New York North mission will combine with the New York South mission to become the New York City Mission.  The Newburgh Stake will realign into the New Jersey Morristown Mission.

I had the privilege of introducing the missionaries to President & Sister Hess who are currently serving in the NJ Mission and President & Sister Teuscher who will oversee the NY City mission this summer.  We are so grateful to know the mission and missionaries will be in wonderful hands serving under the leadership of these inspired couples.  This is the work of the Lord and it carries on!

A message to the families of our dear missionaries...

Recently many of our missionaries have had trials come to their family at home, including the
loss of loved ones.  This is never easy, but we have been strengthened by these missionaries
and their great faith.  They understand the Plan of Salvation.  It is a tender time for them to
be away from home.  It has been miraculous to see their maturity and the
comfort that has come to them from the Holy Ghost.

Every person at some time or another longs for peace
“the peace of God, which passeth all understanding (Philippians 4:7)
The Savior has promised
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you, not as the world giveth,
give I unto you.Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
John 14:26

We send our love to all of you who have experienced recent
heartache or are going through trials. You are in our daily prayers.

We know it is through Jesus Christ, the Savior and Redeemer of the
world that comfort, healing and peace can come.

Helaman 5:12
