|Elder and Sister Larsen came back to visit. It was so fun to see them and spend a few minutes together. Elder Larsen was recently called to be a Sealer in the Las Vegas Nevada Temple.|
Our last round of Zone Conferences! It is hard to believe the 3 years is coming to a close. We wanted to do something special so we will be holding smaller conferences at the Scarsdale Chapel and the Mission Home. Today was the Westchester Zone. I really enjoyed the smaller group and the time we were able to interact with the Elders and Sisters. I love these missionaries!
Part of the day was spent doing role plays of various teaching situations.
Different stations were set up around the gym.

We Thank Thee O God For a Prophet
There was a lot of excitement amongst the missionaries today as we talked about President and
Sister Nelsons devotional for the youth. I had two great Book of Mormon leaders come to mind.
"Now it came to pass that while Amalickiah had thus been obtaining power by fraud and deceit, Moroni, on the other hand, had been preparing the minds of the people to be faithful unto their God."
Like Captain Moroni, President Nelson knows true protection and spiritual strength
come from strong testimonies and obedience to Gods commandments
Just as President Nelson did, he gathered his people together that he might address them.
"And it came to pass that after Mosiah had done as his father had commanded him, and had made a proclamation throughout all the land, that the people gathered themselves together throughout all the land, that they might go up to the temple to hear the words which King Benjamin should speak unto them."
President Nelson clearly stated he would stand accountable for his stewardship...so did King Benjamin
"I can answer a clear conscience before God this day."
Both President Nelson and King Benjamin gave an invitation and promised blessings for obedience.
"And behold, all that he requires of you is to keep his commandments; and he has promised you that if ye would keep his commandments ye should prosper in the land; and he never doth vary from that which he hath said; therefore, if ye do keep his commandments he doth bless you and prosper you.
"And secondly, he doth require that ye should do as he hath commanded you;
for which if ye do, he doth immediately bless you..."
Years ago when President Hinckley taught application in regards to our bodies being a temple, and invited us to have 1 pair of earrings and no tattoos, I didn't think it applied to me. I already had double piercings in my ears, something that was trendy and cute at the time. I justified it away saying well I already have the holes so too late on that one. It was months later when Elder Ballard reiterated President Hinckleys teaching and said its a sad day when the prophet has to teach application because we don't get the doctrine. It hit me that day. If I cannot follow the prophet on something so small as a pair of earrings how will I ever follow when I'm asked to do the big things. I took the second pair of earrings out and have not put them in since.
Its not really about the earrings...
The New York New York North Missionaries are already enlisted in the great Youth Battalion. We are ALL IN! We sustain and love our Prophet, President Russell M. Nelson
